Volunteers
The annual Lake Berryessa Swims sponsored by Davis Aquatic Masters
would not be possible except for the efforts of the many volunteers
who help make these events a success. Our volunteers receive a free
event tee shirt, an official event mug, and lunch on Race Day for
their help.
If you are interested in volunteering for this year’s event please
fill out the form below and the Race Director will contact you with
more information.
Volunteer Position Descriptions:
Friday June 6th:
Course Setup: Help set up course on lake and finish
setting up course early Saturday morning. Requires staying the night
Equipment Transport/Set-up and Posting Signs: Help
load equipment in truck, go to swim site and set up equipment.
May camp overnight and continue set up the next day if needed.
Please let the Race Director know if you plan to spend the night.
Race Day, June 7th:
Awards and raffle prizes: Give out awards and
raffle prizes on race day.
Balloon Arch: Sets up and dismantling the balloon
arch.
Body Marking / Hospitality: Works as body marker
during rush registration (~ 8:15 – 9 am), also helps with
hospitality and refreshments during down time or as needed.
Clean up: Help load equipment, clean area. Unload
equipment in Davis after event.
First Aid: Need one doctor and 2 nurses to be
available at first aid booth. Pick up first aid supplies
at Civic Center pool and bring to event: drop off first-aid
supplies after event.
Parking: Need to put out parking signs, and guide
people to proper places to park.
Refreshments: Helping to prepare or cut food,
ice down drinks etc. Make sure area coordinators and volunteers
stay hydrated.
Registration: Helping register swimmers and pass
out mugs.
Results: Helping results coordinator to post results,
possible computer entry.
Start / Finish: Work with start/finish coordinator
and timing company to count and time racers as they cross the
finish line.
T-shirts and Merchandise: Helps pass out pre-registered
t-shirts on race day. May also help stock and distribute
merchandise.
Volunteer Table: Be at volunteer’s table to pass
out shirts and lunch tickets to volunteers as they check
in. Help with orienting volunteers with their area coordinator(s).
Water Safety: You will be stationed on the water
in a canoe or kayak to ensure the racer’s safety.
